I have setup the desktop as follows: one window for file browser one window for terminal Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open one window terminal and one window file browser 2.save session 3.restart computer 4.start gnome Actual Results: only the window for terminal opens Expected Results: Bothe windows (file browser and terminal) should be restored correctly.

Are you auto-saving your session on logout? To check, go to System -> Preferences -> Sessions and check the Session Options tab to see if "Autmatically remember running applications when logging out" is checked. Alternatively, you can set up the sesssion the way you want it, and click the "Remember currently running application" button on that same tab. I just checked, and this works for me on a clean install of 2.18.2.
I am using save session without "auto-save session". Actually, it doesn´t work for me every time, I used this feature.
I made some tests after upgrading some packages and it works now.
