Description SpanKY gentoo-dev 2007-09-04 05:32:21 UTC
i just tested a 2006.1 cd cause it's the only x86 one i had lying around, but it'd be easy enough to test newer media

after doing an install using the GUI thingy and having it copy binary packages off of the livecd, the "gentoo" user was left behind in the /etc/group file

OK. Andrew, would you prefer we make backups of this stuff before we create our users in catalyst? That will give us all of the users added by packages and such, but not anything from the "gentoo" user.
Comment 2 Andrew Gaffney (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-20 20:30:27 UTC
Eh, I already have code in the installer to filter out the 'gentoo' user from /etc/passwd. I just didn't think about /etc/group. A quick sed in the installer after it copies files over should take care of it:

sed -i 's:,?gentoo$::' /etc/group

The installer is deprecated.
