Today liferea-1.4.0 got released which ends the unstable development branch.So I'm requesting a new ebuild. I haven't looked into creating it by myself but I'm _guessing_ it doesn't need many/any changes from the 1.2-branch.

I will be testing this, and when it's ready, it will go into portage.  Based on past history of liferea, 1.4.0 is not likely to make it in at all, but I could be surprised.

I'm sorry about doing it, it won't happen again soon. As I've just seen a valid/clear reason: 1.4.1 got released.

1.4.3b is in portage; use Bug 191408 as meta-tracker.
