after upgrading to portmap-6.0 while retaining nfs-utils-1.0.12 and restarting portmap service rpc.statd (pulled in by nfsmount) is unable to start:

Either downgrading back to portmap-5b-r9 or upgrading nfs-utils to 1.1.0 fixes this bug.

Comment 1 Sergey Belyashov 2007-09-14 08:52:57 UTC
I have same problem
Comment 2 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-09-14 11:49:13 UTC
net-fs, should we stable nfs-utils 1.1.0? Sorry for borking it in the first place.
Comment 3 Sergey Belyashov 2007-09-14 17:34:48 UTC
Update of nfs-utils to version 1.1.0 solves problem.

yup, same problem here, updating to net-fs/nfs-utils-1.1.0-r1 solved the problem
Comment 5 Nick Loeve 2007-09-21 07:26:37 UTC
I can confirm I had the same problem, and upgrading to net-fs/nfs-utils-1.1.0-r1 fixed the problem.
Comment 6 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-09-21 08:08:38 UTC
nfs-utils-1.0.1 marked stable on x86
Comment 7 Jurek Bartuszek (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-09-21 09:12:57 UTC
Did you mean nfs-utils-1.1.0-r1?
Comment 8 Jesse Adelman 2007-12-12 02:02:48 UTC
Howdy. I have a problem where /etc/init.d/nfs stop doesn't unmount these directories:

nfsd on /proc/fs/nfsd type nfsd (rw)
rpc_pipefs on /data/backup-sf-01/nfs/rpc_pipefs type rpc_pipefs (rw)

(the latter is actually the target of a symlink'd /var/lib/nfs - I'm doing DRBD+Heartbeat failover, which needs at least rpc_pipefs to be unmounted on stop)

Here's what I mean:

backup-sf-01-a nfsd # /etc/init.d/nfs stop
 * Stopping NFS mountd ...                                                                                                                                     [ ok ]
 * Stopping NFS daemon ...                                                                                                                                     [ ok ]

Is that fixed in the latest version? If so, please stabilize. :) Thanks in advance.

Apologies for the bugspam. I see that indeed my problem appears to be solved in the unstable version. :/
Comment 10 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2007-12-29 08:18:38 UTC
should be fixed with nfs-utils-1.1.x
