Description Jonne Mickelin 2007-08-31 14:35:53 UTC
When trying to install the game Kiki through emerge, I get the following result:

Calculating dependencies \
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "kiki" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- games-puzzle/kiki-1.0.2-r2 (masked by: missing keyword)

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

As you can see, it does not say what keyword it is masked by, so the program cannot be installed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge kiki
2.
3.

Actual Results:
I was unable to install Kiki.

Expected Results:
Told me with what keyword it was masked.

To be sure of what I will tell, I'd need the output of emerge --info here.

Without that I just provide a guess. If my guess is not right, emerge --info is welcome

The keyword that is missing in the ebuild is the amd64, meaning that kiki is not ready for building on amd64 systems.

If that is true you cannot do anything except providing, or asking someone else to provide, a patch to make it available on your architecture.
Regards

Then you have an amd64 and, sadly, kiki cannot be installed there, at least in the status that it is now
