Description niogic 2007-08-28 22:34:14 UTC
RC_SWAP_ERASE fills the drive dd if=/dev/zero , what about giving the user the chance to choose if zero-fill or random-fill the drive?
It would be useful if I encrypted the swap space, and I didn't want to let the malicious user know that I had erased it.

And RC_SWAP_ERASE_RANDOM should be described as "Useful for all those paranoid peeps to nuke their memory." instead. :D

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Comment 1 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2007-08-28 23:08:29 UTC
RC_SWAP_ERASE doesnt exist anymore
Comment 2 Leonid Evdokimov 2007-12-28 20:34:04 UTC
I expected to find some comments about RC_SWAP_ERASE removal in bugzilla but found nothing.

What was wrong with it?

write your own script in local.stop ... we're not going to entertain every suggestion under the sun to help paranoid people be paranoid. it's a waste of our time for no real gain.
