The driver in portage for rt61 "rt61-1.1.0-beta2" doesn't work on kernel 2.6.22 (bug #189119). Something has changed in this kernel, because if you edit the ebuild and remove the config check, the driver doesn't compile anyway. So, I have made an ebuild (based on rt61-1.1.0-beta2) which uses rt61 cvs daily driver. 

PS: I haven't got any time to prove the driver, but it compiles and can be loaded into the system.
