Description Fabian Henze 2007-08-27 11:53:38 UTC
ALSA-drivers-1.0.14 does not work with recent intel-hda soundcards. On my Lenovo Thinkpad R61 (using the same soundcard as T61's) I have to use the latest hg development version because of a missing codec. It would be easier to put a (hard-)masked snapshot-ebuild in the tree.

Reproducible: Always

Our alsa maintainer want to remove alsa-drivers from the tree; good luck with this. :P

We do have a alsa-driver-1.0.15_rc*, which is enough bleeding edge for me.

This hardware is supported with the latest gentoo-sources-2.6.22 release. If in future you find sound hardware that is unsupported by the kernel (but potentially supported in the alsa HG tree), please file a kernel bug and we can backport hardware support like this.
