Description Bedeox 2003-04-08 13:50:39 UTC
I started fresh new Gentoo instalation, because I need some of the glibc-2.2*
only packages. Everything bootstraps fine until glibc-2.2.5-r8 (tried r7 too)
I get lots of compile errors in ../../linuxthreads/ (syntax errors)

I'll try gcc-2.95.3, but I don't think it will fix the problem.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Use gcc-3.2.2 (don't know if 2.95.3 can reproduce this)
2.try to emerge sys-libs/glibc-2.2.5

Actual Results:
Compile fails with errors...

Expected Results:
Well, it should compile.

azarah: i can't remember but is it impossible to build glibc-2.2 with gcc3 ?
Comment 2 Martin Schlemmer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-04-08 15:26:21 UTC
Yes, cannot with gcc3.
Comment 3 Bedeox 2003-04-08 22:23:29 UTC
Yes, it is, but it works with gcc-2.95.3... but there are other problems.
I'll post another bug.
