When running as a normal user, it's impossible to get any information about currently running services because /mnt/.init.d has the odd permissions of 0644. I don't know if this is by design but 0644 is extremely odd for a directory. The fix is to change the tmpfs mount option "mode=0644" to "mode=0755" in /sbin/rc and /etc/init.d/checkroot. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. As a non-root user, "ls /mnt/.init.d" 2. 3. Actual Results: ls: /mnt/.init.d/softscripts: Keine Berechtigung ls: /mnt/.init.d/softlevel: Keine Berechtigung ... Expected Results: A directory listing
Its a security feature ... if its my box that a lot of users use .. the less they can find out about what is going on with stuff that *should* not be thier worry, the better.
