Description Evan Langlois 2003-04-08 00:18:12 UTC
The default location of svcdir has been changed from /mnt/.init.d (a location
that is should be on the root filesystem) to /var/lib/init.d. Considering a
fairly good number of systems don't have /var on the root drive, this can cause
considerable trouble.

Also, since many people have root mounted read-only by default, this should be
mount to /mnt/.init.d and as a tmpfs or ramfs filesystem to make sure its
writable. Otherwise, people may find considerable trouble booting their system
(unless you keep a rescue CD in your wallet like I do).

Ok.
