Description Peter Avramucz 2007-08-19 20:02:04 UTC
I have a drive, that isn't supported yet in the official database. However if i add a line to /usr/share/hddtemp/hddtemp.db, it works. Re-emerging the hddtemp package however resets the file.I think this file is like sensors.conf, which isn't overwritten. So please make a protect mask for it, or even better, make it act like files in /etc (so etc-update can operate on it).

So add it to CONFIG_PROTECT in /etc/make.conf if you need this? Vast majority of users never ever touches the file, why should they be nagged on every upgrade?

Okay. It works. However, this option isn't mentioned in make.conf.example...

See `man make.conf`

FIXED is not a proper resolution for this as nothing changed in the ebuild.
