The version of glabels currently in CVS is 2.0.4, which got released in December 2005. In the meantime glabels 2.1.3 got released and I've been using the attached ebuild for that without problems. I also just noted that glabels 2.1.4 got released last week, but I have not yet updated by own ebuilds for it. Version 2.1.4 contains minor changes under the hood with a switch to Cairo and other more modern GTK+ and Gnome facilities, so it may still make sense to drop 2.1.3 in CVS before trying to add 2.1.4.

Thank you for the feedback, Hans. It's nice that the versions in the 2.1.x branch bring important improvements, and that they seem to be in good shape, however, I don't think there's a real need to add ebuilds for them just yet. It's perfectly fine if you want to publicly maintain ebuilds in a personal overlay or something like that, but I'd rather wait for the next stable release to add it to our tree. At that time your ebuild updates are very much welcome :). Thanks again.
I recall adding the 2.1.3 ebuild for a specific reason, either to work around a bug in older versions of because of new functionality, but it's too long ago and I can't recall anymore what the reason was. Given the slow development cycle you might want to reconsider adding a newer version anyway, but it's your call. My ebuild is available in my personal overlay (graaff @ layman).
gLabels has a new stable version, 2.2.0, that was released two days ago. I believe the time is right to bump gLabels in the Portage tree. Can someone reopen this bug, please? Also, the dependencies seemed to have changed a bit: http://glabels.sourceforge.net/
