After upgrading to stable kde 3.5.7, I can no longer synchronize my palm with my kde files. Synchronization starts off in the usual fashion but freezes at first item: calendar synchronization. Thereafter I cannot repeat until after a reboot. I'm unsure how to diagnose problem, but it appears to be one of the programs, kpilot depends on that crashes. have you tried bugs.kde.org? Maybe it's a regression in the code?
I had exactly the same problem with my Palm Zire 22. I have it working again by unmasking hardmasked packages pilot-link 0.12.2 and kpilot 3.5.7. So that problem is solved in the newer versions. Downside is having unstable versions on my computer. I now HAVE to start hot-sync on my Zire 22 BEFORE starting starting kpilot. Not doing so results in crashing of kpilot-daemon. I have to kill the daemon to be able to restart kpilot. Whereas in the stable version of kpilot (3.5.5) a reset of the communication would do.
This should be fixed by the newer versions I've introduced to the tree. As we now have different issues in this bug, please open a new bug if you have further issues.
