I reworked the wine ebuild to work alongside the included winex ebuild without clobbering each other. With just winex merged, either "wine" or "winex" will work from the commandline. With both merged, "wine" runs wine, "winex" runs winex :) They keep to their own libraries and use seperate ~/.wine/config and ~/.winex/config. attachment to follow

The matching snapshot for the winex ebuild is 5.5 megs so I couldn't attach it. WineX is under the Aladdin Free Public License, the same one ghostscript uses. What action should I take to get the winex cvs snapshot to you?
Created attachment 601 [details] winex/files contents including digest and a couple support files wow this was sloppy. wine/files to follow :\

I'm just adding a comment asking you what's happening with these ebuilds... I'm really looking forward to them! :)
I'm sorry I've ignored this for so long. I was away for most of last week, and then this as a new ebuild submission had a lower priority than bug reports. But I'm on it now. For the snapshot - can't I get it from somewhere on the web? Do the transgaming people provide nightly cvs snapshots? btw, is there a particular reason you selected this snapshot [e.g. some semiofficial stability statement] or was it just the latest at the moment (in which case I can take the latest as of now and use that)?
It's been recently brought up that under the default bugzilla account settings, a bug reporter doesn't recieve a copy of the comments added to a bug and needs to be added to the cc: list. I'm now adopting the routine of adding every reporter to the cc list. You may not have recieved my previous comments, if so please read them now.
The cvs snapshot was just the latest at the moment.
Danarmak, if you want, i'm willing to take this ebuild? Lemme know :o)
Sure, you can take it :-) With the current kdemm/alsa.9 and qt/nas bugs,a dn everything else I have assigned, I won't get to it too son. In fact, since all Kde bugs go to me by default, your list is probably a lot shorter than mine. Feel free to handle any of mine.
Hello, I made my own Winex ebuild, but this one is MUCH more elegant than mine, so I won't submit it :) To answer some of the comments, TransGaming does NOT provide nightly snapshots. However, I do have a working winex CVS snapshot that I pulled from the SourceForge CVS server on 5/8/02 and placed on the web. It was the one I used for my ebuil, and is completely unpached. I have tested it fairly well, and it *seems* to work well. The URL is: http://www.cae.wisc.edu/~gayeski/files/winex-20020228.tar.bz2 Please let me know if you need any help with this ebuild. I am interested in seeing this package make it into portage. --Mike Gayeski (cusinart)
Well, it's already in portage (emerge rsync --clean will show it) since this morning, i just forgot to close the bug :o) Thanks for reminding me
