Here's a long overdue update to Metalog. This release of course includes the --pidfile option, but it has also some new features like regex filtering of program names, negative regexes, and suppression of duplicate lines.

this one dupes my bug 18825, which I am thankful for since I hadn't had time to work on adapting the old patch
*** Bug 18825 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Please include the patch from bug 8607 http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8607 before releasing this. Because the patch solves an issue which is still present in 0.7.
Waiting a couple days to see if the promised 0.8 comes out.
I just want to note we've no sign of the 0.8, and the "new features" don't work as documented. I have sent the author mail on this, along with my config to be double sure I wasn't blowing it, but after jumping through his mail security and still getting no response, I'm beginning to wish mholzer had set this as a dupe of mine instead, because I would've closed it. I'd like to see this as a ~x86 considering the two bugs here and the others listed. Thanks
Sorry I've been quite busy those days, but the new release should come out this week-end.
Luke-Jr: Tossing this one to you as well. (They're all related; fix one and you fix them all.)
Any ideas when we can expect the next version? I'm eagerly awaiting the negative regexp matching in the latest metalog. Thanks!
I think this bug report can be closed. Version 0.7 is in Portage since one month.
pebenito updated this w/o letting me know or closing the bug... closed now :)
Actually, I thought it was left open because we were awaiting the 0.8 (somewhere in below comments) but whatever..I going to syslog-ng soon anyways,as there is no reponse from author on existing bugs (more specifically, all the features which are supposed to make 0.7 different that 0.6 do not work as advertised) I just popped this on incase someone somewhere is waiting for the promised 0.8:)
That's another bug waiting for 0.8. I just emailed the person who said it would be released soon 4 months ago... If he doesn't answer I'll probably add the patch onto 0.7...
