Hi, torK 0.18 was released on july 30th. It contains some nice bugfixes and a couple of new features that would be nice to have available. Please see the release notes on sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?group_id=159836&release_id=528761 Kind regards, Erik Logtenberg.
For your information: simply renaming the existing tork-0.17.ebuild to tork-0.18.ebuild seems to do the trick just fine. torK 0.18 is running here (on x86) with no aparent problems.
torK-0.18 has a few minor issues which I've contacted upstream about. Once those are resolved, we're going to bump it.
In the meantime TorK already released 0.19 and 0.20.
Wulf: would you care to indicate what kind of issues that may be? Simply renaming the current ebuild to tork-0.20.ebuild once again works like a charm for me.
Oh I think I already know what Wulf reported, this bug was fixed in TorK 0.19 already: o Fix ' lacks a SONAME' reported by "Wulf C. Krueger" <philantrop at gentoo.org>
That was one issue. The other one is the forced usage of the bundled tsocks. The tsocks we install already optionally features the tordns patch. Furthermore, the bundled tsocks lib would have collided with the one potentially installed in the system. Thus, we're now patching the sources to enable compilation without the bundled stuff. Unfortunately, the author doesn't want to re-introduce the former configure switch. And, for the record, 0.20 has been out for just 4 days... 0.20 is now in CVS.
> And, for the record, 0.20 has been out for just 4 days... My message was not at all meant to hurry you or suggest slacking in any way. In fact I would like to thank you for your fine work on this package.
