I just copied the courier 0.41 ebuild to 0.42 and copied the .41 patch to .42. Emerged .42(had to do a digest) and it is working now. I will update here if I have any problems. Maybe if you decide to update the courier ebuild it would be a good time to update the ebuild to set the owner on the /var/run/courier directory which is mentioned in another bug(can't remember which one right now). It fixes a problem with courier filterd not starting correctly. Any other questions for me feel free to ask. You may also want to add the courier latest patch to the ebuild.
