New minor version release with many changes. It should be noted that both the formats for the on-disk log and hash database pages have changed; however, both changes are backward-compatible so database upgrades aren't required.

added to portage, but is package.mask'd for now.  feedback on bugs is appreciated.

The new version works fine for me on x86. 

Also, a new bug fix version (4.6.19) was released recently. See http://tinyurl.com/2usn3w for detailed changes.

Should I open a new bug? Perhaps 4.6.19 could just replace 4.6.18 in the tree since 4.6.18 is masked.
