Howdy, My first ebuild is for this Spanish ispell dictionary. I'd suggest the app-i18n category. I'd appreciate any suggestions, comments, etc. on this ebuild since I'm just starting with this thingies... :) Thanks, Leonardo

And so the spells mount...
Hi Leonardo! Which version of ispell did you test this against? Ispell has been giving us problems lately and that would be useful information. Thanks for the contribuiton!
# emerge search "^ispell$" [ Results for search key : ^ispell$ ] [ Applications found : 1 ] * app-text/ispell Latest version Available: 3.2.06-r1 Latest version Installed: 3.2.06-r1 Homepage: http://fmg-www.cs.ucla.edu/geoff/ispell.html Description: Ispell is a fast screen-oriented spelling checke
Seemant, This is interesting. Leonardo's spanish dict ebuild for ispell appears to build fine with ispell-3.2. Perhaps it is just a matter of updating the german and other foreign language dict ebuilds to the latest rev. I'mm wondering if all the support stuff (sq, unsq, etc) was pushed into the foreign language dict packages?
Tod, I swear you're a genius! I just tested a later snapshot of the ispell-de (I've uploaded to CVS and masked). The SRC_URI and HOMEPAGE had to be adjusted, and guess what? The author provides perl scripts to replace sq and unsq! I dunno yet how the ispell-es does things to compensate for the lack of those two tools. I am half tempted to actually install those perl scripts for sq and unsq into /usr/bin. Anywho, lemme know what you find.
Tod, http://fmg-www.cs.ucla.edu/fmg-members/geoff/ispell-dictionaries.html That page seems to be a link wherehouse for translated dictionaries. At some point, we should probably start packaging those one by one. Waddaya think?
Committed to CVS. I made some minor changes, take a look at them the next time you 'emerge rsync' Thanks for the contribution Leonardo!
emerge fails with this ebuild, please see <a href="http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2967">bug 2967</a>.
