i emerged xmame 0.62.2-r1 and the build broke with errors about arts i emerged arts a re-emerge of xmame worked i think kde-base/arts needs to be included as a prerequisite for xmame thanks
xmame does optionally DEPEND on arts (if you have arts in your USE flags). The breakage you were seeing probably stems from having something else in your USE flags that was built with arts and then removing arts later (most likely SDL).
if you can show that the failure wasnt because a library had originally linked with arts then please re-open
