I've used handbook to install my system.
Choosing genkernel method to create kernel (with zcat /proc/config.gz).
Later I've started to install Xorg and it not work until I set CONFIG_VM86=y and recompiled kernel. Driver cannot initialize video card ("Mobile 945GM/GMS/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller").
May be in later releases of Gentoo (2007.1 etc) it can be useful to include this param to default kernel ?

That option is enabled in SVN in the kernel config, so it'll show up in 2008.0 Beta 2.
