media-video/motion-3.2.7 has already been released, but the 3.2.8 version that is out supports v4l version 2!!! I've complied it from source to get it working with the uvcvideo v4l version 2 driver on my new camera.. it works!!! :-) but.. I'm no e-build developer.. just dumb luck. Created attachment 130757 [details] ebuild for motion-3.2.8 I'm not a maintainer either, but I think you can expect a version bump faster if you attach an updated eBuild. This ebuild is identical to the 3.2.7 ebuild, except that it has been renamed. The result is that I can put this eBuild in my overlay tree and have portage install 3.2.8 successfully.
