When attempting to upgrade-emerge lib-sdl-1.1.5 to either 1.2.6 or 1.2.7, it fails with the following output line: checking for sdl-config... /usr/bin/sdl-config checking for SDL - version >= 1.2.4... no *** Could not run SDL test program, checking why... *** The test program compiled, but did not run. This usually means *** that the run-time linker is not finding SDL or finding the wrong *** version of SDL. If it is not finding SDL, you'll need to set your *** LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable, or edit /etc/ld.so.conf to point *** to the installed location Also, make sure you have run ldconfig if that *** is required on your system *** When checking further the log file located in: /var/tmp/portage/media-libs/sdl-net-1.2.7/work/SDL_net-1.2.7 I see in the configure script failure that libsdl requires libgii.so. Do we need another ebuild dependecies to direct libsdl to 'suck' in libgii as well?
Run revdep-rebuild.
