I get: mount: no buffer space available When I tell mount to mount a VFAT partition, have tried it in many ways and I always get this error, even if I reboot the problem stays, this have only happened to me since I installed with the Live-CD installer in the networless install (2007) and not in any other distribution (Debian, Ubuntu, Slax). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. bash$ mount /dev/hdb5 /media/media Actual Results: mount: no buffer space available Expected Results: Mount the unit in /media/media I will add the emerge info later

2.6.19 is quite out of date now. Can you reproduce this with 2.6.22 or newer?

Please try 2.6.22 or newer. If 2.6.22 fails I'll ask you to test 2.6.23-rc1, so it would probably be a good idea to try 2.6.23-rc1 right off the bat.

I'm not asking you to switch to a -rc kernel. I'm asking you to compile it, boot into it, see if this bug exists, and then reboot into a kernel of your choice.

I tried to upgrade but emerge says I already have the latest sources (2.6.21). How can I update to the newest kernel? (Oh, forget it, let me google about it).
In case google wasn't of assistance, I suggest emerging the sys-kernel/vanilla-sources package. You'll need to keyword it as 2.6.23-rc1 is unstable.

(In reply to comment #10) > Thanks for the comment, let me try and i tell you > Any progress with the vanilla kernel? At this point the latest is sys-kernel/vanilla-sources-2.6.23_rc3
Sorry but my system got kind of unusable for me right now so I wont be able to provide more info for a while, but i will when I fix that issue.
I'm going to resolve this bug as need info. If you retest as requested at a later date and the issue reoccurs, please feel free to reopen this bug.
