sci-libs/hdf-4.2.1 (called 4.2r1) has been out for >2 years. This seemingly small version bump fixes some pretty big bugs and allows some scientific software I'm working with to compile. Reproducible: Always
Created attachment 126000 [details] New ebuild for hdf-4.2.1 New ebuild based on previous hdf-4.2.0.ebuild. This one is modified to depend on szip-2.0, as well as reflect new homepage and tarball naming.
Created attachment 126001 [details, diff] Patch to allow hdf-4.2.1 to compile shared libs This is the hdf-4.2.0-shared-libs.patch modified to apply against the hdf-4.2.1 sources.
Created attachment 126003 [details] Updated ebuild for hdf-4.2.1 Updated to compile with -DHAVE_NETCDF. HDF includes NetCDF internally. The HAVE_NETCDF define compiles the library with wrappers to rename any nc* functions to sd_nc*, thus removing symbol collisions for programs trying to link to both libraries.
version 4.2.1_p4 (fix for hrepack as well) in cvs. Thanks.
