New kernels do not have the "Use PCI DMA by default when available" option anymore. http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commit;h=120b9cfddff2e398fece07c5e127f3fdbb660441 The handbook still instructs to enable it. Reproducible: Always
I'm going to check this out, see what the current kernel versions are and if they have (or don't have) the option available. The 2007.0 handbook probably doesn't need to be touched but I might put in a comment saying that it needs to be updated for the next release. What is currently the best way to keep track of changes for a next release? Or is it rather copied from the current instead of based on the previous version?
Seems to be removed between 2.6.18 and 2.6.21 (the two kernels I still have sources for on my disk :-)
Updated for arm/ia64/x86/amd64. Networkless isn't affected (no kernel config).
