Description Carlos Eduardo Santos 2007-07-23 16:37:49 UTC
It's a well known problem, but none of the solutions I've found was able to successfully run compiz. I've also tried xeffects overlay, and now the portage masked release.

I'm running: x11-apps/compiz-settings-0.07, x11-plugins/compiz-extra-0.3.6.0 and x11-wm/compiz-0.3.6 (version >=0.5 does not compile because of an already opened bug).

Video driver: i810

AIGLX and Composite enabled (from Xorg.0.log)

# glxinfo | grep GLX_EXT_texture
libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x5b
    GLX_ARB_multisample, GLX_EXT_import_context, GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap,
    GLX_SGIX_visual_select_group, GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. compiz --replace
Actual Results:
libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x5b

compiz: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is not supported by direct rendering context, trying indirect rendering context instead
compiz: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is missing
compiz: Failed to manage screen: 0
compiz: No manageable screens found on display :0.0
