I have configured a new full source and a rsync mirror in Sweden. One of the mirrors currenty listed in sweden have been down for a long time (ftp.du.se) so there are maybe some space for my mirror? The server got 1 Gbit in internet connection (both up/down) and are located in Västerås, Sweden. Addresses: Source mirror ftp://bobcat.nuff.se/gentoo http://bobcat.nuff.se/mirror/gentoo rsync://bobcat.nuff.se/gentoo Portage mirror rsync://bobcat.nuff.se/gentoo-portage Reproducible: Always
Confirmed working mirror. [04:55:00]<root@echo:~> wget ftp://bobcat.nuff.se/gentoo/releases/x86/current/installcd/install-x86-minimal-2007.0-r1.is 16:59:07 (3.13 MB/s) - `install-x86-minimal-2007.0-r1.iso' saved [59940864] That's to Canada btw. ;)

Hi Gustav, Sorry we've taken a while getting back to you - things have been pretty hectic! I've just joined the Infrastructure team to help out with handling our mirrors, and wanted to check it's still your intention to be a distfiles + rsync mirror? Cheers, Alex

I'm sorry for not watching this thread more frequent, I've stop doing so when i don't get any answer in three months. The mirror have been up and running all the time since and it would be great to become a public mirror so the bandwidth are better used. Please let me know if i should sync my mirror against other servers or with shorter intervals. King regards, Gustav
Any news on the progress?
Gustav, Please accept my apologies for the delay. Distfiles looks good. * Timestamp on bobcat.nuff.se is Thu, 28 Feb 2008 09:08:09 +0000 * Current time in UTC is Thu Feb 28 12:11:57 UTC 2008 Rsync is lagging by a day... Thanks for helping out Gentoo. I have added your mirror to our list at http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml. Please start syncing from masterdistfiles.gentoo.org as the email I have sent to you instructs. We would like you to subscribe to the gentoo-mirrors Mailing List by sending an email to gentoo-mirrors-subscribe@lists.gentoo.org, as we send out notifications of updates, releases, and changes in policy to the mirrors. Please also monitor http://mirrorstats.gentoo.org as this application is used to keep track of the up-to-date nature of our mirrors. Once again, thanks for the hardware and bandwidth! For Infrastructure, Shyam Mani
