net-www/phoenix-cvs/phoenix-cvs-0.5-r2.ebuild builds fine, however it does not add an entry to the gnome Applications->Internet menu. Please have the ebuild check for USE=gnome, and if set create /usr/share/gnome/apps/Internet/phoenix.desktop. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Seth, reassigning this to you since you are the phoenix-cvs author. (I'm only the cvs.eclass peon, heh) IMO, adding it to the gnome startmenu is wrong, because of this: 1) phoenix-bin does not come with an entry, why should phoenix-cvs? 2) If the author wants to provide an entry - fine. If he doesn't, why should we? At least half of the programs in X come without an entry - shall we write them ourselfes? I say no, because it sounds like useless waste of time. 3) Whats up with the kde guys? I hear them yelling already. :) Your decision, seth. -phoen][x-
i'm agreeing with phoenix here, this is a beta ebuild in portage becuase people on other architecutres wanted phoenix support (ppc). I don't think we should add a gnome entry for EVERY ebuild in the tree, unless maybe we can eclass it somehow. if you submit a patch, we'll apply it, better yet if you make it eclassable (so we can have a GNOME_CATEGORY and GNOME_PKGNAME or whatever) and the eclass would automatically add it, that would be awesome i'm resolving this bug as LATER

Fixed this in Mozilla Firebird - a GNOME menu item is now installed
