Description bdkelsey 2003-04-01 18:55:35 UTC
My keyboard is of the USB variety and works for the initial boot prompt of the
1.4_rc2 and _rc3 liveCDs. During the loading process however, my keyboard is
not detected, and the install stops at the keymap selection point.

I have an Athlon 1300 w/256 MB RAM. It is an HP computer, and the keyboard in
question is the multimedia keyboard that comes with their desktops.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot w/ liveCD.
2. Hit enter to load isolinux.
Actual Results:
My keyboard decides not to function, and I cannot select a keymap.

Expected Results:
Detected my keyboard.

None. Check the link for all I can provide.

With the latest CD, my keyboard works. Thank you. I do wish to add one more thing, though:

During the initial boot sequence before (if you'll forgive the untechnical description) the status text is colored, I still see two lines that say something similar to "AT keyboard not detected or not present." I am therefore concerned that if I am prompted to input anything before my keyboard is detected (like say, a keymap as in the _rc2 and _rc3 disks), I'd still be out of luck.

A timeout before a default value is automatically selected at any such prompt would be adequate in this case, though I would need to do a "loadkeys dvorak" to make the install bearable.

Thank you once again. I'm glad this problem was resolved.
