is there any actual problem with the package ? if not, then no, you cant go punting a package merely because it's old and no one loves it. find a bug no one wants to fix first.

while gtk+-1 usage sucks, i wouldnt call it a problem ... gtk+-1 isnt going anywhere in the tree
