Is there any reason that ftp.wayne.edu was taken out of the rsync rotation? I just realized that it's no longer in it and I was never given notice.
We had repeated problems with ftp.wayne.edu being either down or timing out after a certain period. As a matter of fact, I just did a test now and got the following: ------------------- kurtl@x5 trashme $ rsync -avz ftp.wayne.edu::gentoo-portage/ ./ Welcome to Wayne State University, located in Detroit, MI. receiving file list ... rsync error: timeout in data send/receive (code 30) at io.c(85) rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (98296 bytes read so far) rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(165) ------------------- We normally list contact names/email addresses in our zone file so we can contact admins in the case of problems. For wayne.edu, however, we didn't have a contact name listed, so I couldn't contact anyone. --kurt
