On 2007-7-14, xapian devs released xapian-1.0.2. just rename xapian-0.9.9.ebuild and xapian-bindings-0.9.9.ebuild to xapian-1.0.2.ebuild and xapian-bindings-1.0.2.ebuild and it works. Reproducible: Always
+0.5 on a version bump. xapian-bindings 0.9.9 is currently incompatible with Python 2.5, because the SWIG stuff hasn't been updated to take account of new internal typedefs in Python 2.5, it looks like. xapian-bindings 1.0.2 resolves this; it looks like they're not using SWIG anymore (but I'm not an expert on this stuff). (Bug against 0.9.9 will be reported separately.) Caveat: I haven't actually tried to *use* the Python bindings yet. (That's why I'm only +0.5. ;-)
The last version is already 1.0.4. Renamed ebuilds work fine.

I tested both ebuilds and they build for me on amd64.
Both ebuilds compiled and installed without problems on AMD64 ( tested with USE="python" binding only.)
The latest version of xapian is now 1.0.6.
I'm not really interested in maintaining this package, but as this is one of the python 2.5 blockers and seems a trivial bump, I just did it.
