On an amd64 box after upgrading to nvidia-drivers-100.14.11 X was consistently freezing within a few minutes of starting. I reverted back to 100.14.09 and that has solved the issue for me. Unfortunately this has been removed from portage so I got it directly from nvidia. It seems like quite a few people have been hit by this: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=93110&page=3 I have upgraded and downgraded again with the same results, to confirm this is a problem with the 100.14.11 drivers. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge =x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-100.14.11 2.restart X 3.my machine will lock up after a few minutes, although the mouse can still be moved around the screen. Perhaps making nvidia-drivers-100.14.09 available again would provide a sufficient workaround for those effected.
Done.
