Description Thomas Heiserowski 2003-03-31 17:53:34 UTC
Trying to emerge hp-web-jetadmin does not install anything to /opt/jetadmin/.
Consequently /etc/init.d/jetadmin start does fail.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge hp-web-jetadmin
2.run /etc/init.d/jetadmin start

Actual Results:
/etc/init.d/jetadmin start failed with error "start-stop-daemon: stat
/opt/jetadmin/hpwebjetd: No such file or directory"

Expected Results:
jetadmin should have started

Portage 2.0.47-r10 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.2, glibc-2.3.2-r0)

Some other details:

>>> Install hp-web-jetadmin-6.5-r2 into /var/tmp/portage/hp-web-jetadmin-6.5-r2/image/ category net-print
 * This will take some time to completely merge.
 * Please don't hit CTRL-C.
Extracting files:...............................................................
./setup: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Install script failed
man:
strip:
>>> Completed installing into /var/tmp/portage/hp-web-jetadmin-6.5-r2/image/

The install script fails, but emerge fails to notice...

I can repro this problem.
Comment 2 Martin Holzer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-05-09 17:36:35 UTC
As this package is incompattible with newer portage features (userpriv mode) and
is misbehaving in general we have decided to remove the hp-web-jetadmin from portage
alltogether.
