Description Jens Finkhäuser 2003-03-31 12:58:07 UTC
hi!

being no docbook specialist at all, i'll leave resolving the bug to you. it's
ebuild docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.12.ebuild on powerpc. configure runs through
properly, then building fails. it seems to me that the problem might well be
related to 'jade', as that program exits with an error state. i'll attach an
error log, hope that helps.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge the package

Portage 2.0.47-r10 (default-ppc-1.4, gcc-3.2.2, glibc-2.3.2-r0)

Could you try to emerge again docbook-sgml-dtd and then emerge the dockbook-sgml-utils again please?
Comment 3 Jens Finkhäuser 2003-04-01 09:01:39 UTC
sure. it's the first thing i've done, and it didn't change a thing. i'll try to emerge rsync, then try what you suggest again. before i do that, i'll wait until the rest of my system is up-to-date. i will post the results.
Comment 4 Jens Finkhäuser 2003-04-01 17:25:11 UTC
ok, tried emerge rsync, then emerge docbook-sgml-dtd, then emerge docbook-sgml-utils and the same thing happens.

then i tried to unmerge the docbook-sgml-dtd, and emerge it again. much to my surprise portage did not try to emerge version 4.2 this time, but only all versions up to 4.1-r1. when next i emerged docbook-sgml-utils, another error occurred; i'll attach the full log.

emerge docbook-sgml-utils

yeah, here is the log. sorry for the delay, the upload didn't work/timed out
when i first tried to upload it, and i've forgotten about it since - the error
persists, though.
Comment 8 Graham Forest 2003-04-27 22:29:42 UTC
Something is very odd here... Is your jade known to work, or is it just broken? Maybe re-emerge it (either way) and try again?
Comment 9 Jens Finkhäuser 2003-04-28 03:06:37 UTC
hi!

yeah, might well be that the jade is broken, and it's nothing to do with this here. i just re-emerged jade, here's the version info:

jade:I: OpenJade version "1.3.1"
jade:I: OpenSP version "1.3.4"

didn't change anything, though :(

good luck,
jens
Comment 10 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2003-06-08 17:06:32 UTC
is still an issue?
Comment 11 Jens Finkhäuser 2003-06-09 09:15:43 UTC
yes, i'm afraid so. openjade-1.3.1-r6 and docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.12. same s..., different day :(
Comment 12 Luca Barbato gentoo-dev 2003-06-09 10:12:43 UTC
please emerge -C docbook* and every correlated deps and then reemerge

I'm sure you have some dtd corrupted.
Comment 13 Jens Finkhäuser 2003-06-17 23:37:06 UTC
hi!

sorry to have bothered you so long, that worked the last time i tried it. some package (cannot remember by now :( ) got updated from 4.1something to 4.2, the rest stayed the same.

thanks again!
