Hi. May I request that a CVS ebuild be created for emacs-w3m? I don't think that a split ebuild is necessary (gnus , gnus-cvs style), just a masked version 9999. There has been a fair amount of recent CVS work happening for this rather old package. Reproducible: Always
Created attachment 124698 [details] cvs ebuild: emacs-w3m-9999.ebuild Requested CVS ebuild for emacs overlay or main portage tree. Probably good to mask and/or make testing.
Hi, the ebuild looks good, except for two points: 1. You should use "eautoreconf", and this function is conventionally called in src_unpack. 2. ${WORKDIR}/${ECVS_MODULE} should be quoted. In general, we are very reluctant to include live cvs ebuilds, especially if several other packages depend on it. Isn't there any upstream release in sight?

An extra pair of eyes is always good. :) > In general, we are very reluctant to include live cvs ebuilds, especially if > several other packages depend on it. I'll ask upstream about their plans and follow up when I get a reply.
Follow-up from the devs: http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.emacs.w3m/6898 It's almost ready for a release. The remaining TODOs are edge-condition cases that the releases don't appear to support either. The devs don't have time to finish it up just now.
A snapshot of the CVS is available (hardmasked) as app-emacs/emacs-w3m-1.4.4.20070704. Feel free to reopen this bug when you think that the snapshot should be updated (or when there is a release).
