When I click on the "Open" entry of the popup menu on an attachment, nothing happens. I've used the Gentoo mozilla 1.3. I have suppressed my old profile (mozilla 1.3alpha) before. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the popup menu on the attachment 2 [details]. Click on "Open" 3. Actual Results: Nothing happens Expected Results: A dialog box to choose the application Portage 2.0.47-r10 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.2, glibc-2.3.1-r2) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.19-gentoo-r10 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1700+ GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /var/qmail/control /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/3.1/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/afs/C /etc/afs/afsws /etc/gconf /etc/env.d" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" USE="x86 oss apm cups libg++ mikmod nls xv zlib gdbm berkdb slang readline guile pam libwww python imlib gphoto2 cdr X mmx 3dnow ssl arts lame perl sdl oggvorbis qt kde opengl avi png tiff gif -gnome -esd alsa qtmt gtk gtk2 -bonobo -evo -gb -gtkhtml motif -tcltk -aalib ncurses svga jpeg mpeg quicktime dvd ggi xmms flash encode crypt tcpd mozilla mozirc spell xml xml2 truetype pdflib tetex -java -ruby gpm" COMPILER="gcc3" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -mcpu=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe" CXXFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -mcpu=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe" ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" MAKEOPTS="-j2" AUTOCLEAN="no" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" FEATURES="sandbox ccache"
I have the same problem. Impossible to open mail attachment, i must save each time instead to open it directly from "right click--->open". My system is intel P4.
I have exactly same problem. Upgraded mozilla from 1.0.1 to 1.3 stable. I'll try to remove old 1.0.1 profile and create fresh with 1.3 and we'll see if that problem still exists.
Created fresh profile with 1.3 and problem still accours... Intresting that mozilla web browser knows about right mimetypes and helper applications..mhm.
I assume you all use imap servers? This is a known mozilla 1.3 problem. Can be closed here as it is fixed in 1.4.
No, I use a POP server but there isn't this bug in the 1.4. I think this Bug can be closed.
Mozilla 1.4 is now in portage, just without enigmail as the mozdev.org servers are under attack. Please comment 'KEYWORDS=" and uncomment the arch keywords line to use it.
