Description Angelo Arrifano (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-11 17:15:51 UTC
I'm using
net-wireless/ndiswrapper-1.45
and
net-wireless/ndiswrapper-1.46

since they were available on portage.

They always worked perfect for me.
I'm currently using it to connect to WEP and WPA/PEAP (using wpa_supplicant) networks.

HW:
00:0a.0 Ethernet controller: Linksys, A Division of Cisco Systems [AirConn] INPROCOMM IPN 2220 Wireless LAN Adapter (rev 01)

Driver:
neti2220 (64bit) version 02/24/2005 3.07.02.2005

klog:
ndiswrapper version 1.47 loaded (smp=no)
ndiswrapper (link_pe_images:576): fixing KI_USER_SHARED_DATA address in the driver
ndiswrapper: driver neti2220 (INPROCOMM,02/24/2005,3.07.02.2005) loaded
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:0a.0[A] -> GSI 21 (level, low) -> IRQ 21
ndiswrapper: using IRQ 21
wlan0: ethernet device 00:0e:9b:82:43:09 using NDIS driver: neti2220, version: 0x30007, NDIS version: 0x501, vendor: 'NDIS Network Adapter', 17FE:2220.5.conf
wlan0: encryption modes supported: WEP; TKIP with WPA, WPA2, WPA2PSK; AES/CCMP with WPA, WPA2, WPA2PSK
usbcore: registered new interface driver ndiswrapper
ndiswrapper (iw_set_ap_address:629): setting AP mac address failed (C0010015)
ndiswrapper (iw_set_ap_address:629): setting AP mac address failed (C0010015)
ndiswrapper: device wlan0 removed
ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:00:0a.0 disabled
usbcore: deregistering interface driver ndiswrapper

Reproducible: Always

So, what's the bug here? :)
Comment 2 Angelo Arrifano (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-11 18:32:58 UTC
Sorry.. :)

They are currently masked, since they are working very well here, this is supposed to be a kind of stabilize request.

Isn't this a correct behavior?
Comment 3 Marcelo Goes (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-09-01 19:27:09 UTC
I believe =ndiswrapper-1.45 should be stabilized.

I just hit bug 179951 - =ndiswrapper-1.44 will not emerge with Linux kernel 2.6.22, so it is not too useful for most people as it is now.
=ndiswrapper-1.45 emerges fine.

Cheers,
Marcelo
Comment 4 Piotr Jaroszyński (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-09-02 01:44:40 UTC
I would prefer to have 1.47 stabled if anything as ndiswrapper is getting a bunch of bug fixes every release.
Comment 5 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-09-04 19:59:59 UTC
x86 stable and closing
