I have no idea. Still on my Mobility X700 it's always here. Tried to 'emerge -e xorg-x11', but no changes followed. The only boot that was free of this bug was the first boot of 2.6.22 (I switched from 2.6.21 where it also was). Actually it appeared just the last week, everything was OK until then for about a month. The last change before it was the switch from PATA to libata in kernel. I tried to switch back but I failed.
