x11-themes/gdm-themes has been masked for several reasons, one of them legal issues. I have created a new ebuild for the Falling Angel theme, which does not include copyrighted material, but instead directs the user to manually download it from the authors website. This way gentoo users can continue to use this pretty GDM theme! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

We are not adding dummy ebuilds to the tree.
It's not dummy, it does download the XML and .desktop files, and some icons. I could automate the retrieval of the image file, if thats what you want. In short: how to adjust the ebuild to make it acceptable? What criteria do you use?
Comment on attachment 124380 [details] gdm-theme-falling-angel-0.1.0.ebuild Don't unpack in src_install, and have a look other theme ebuilds on how to handle install.
Created attachment 124420 [details] gdm-theme-falling-angel-0.1.0.ebuild I changed the ebuild as requested. I hope it's OK now, else please let me know how to improve it.
updated ebuild
luisroyofantasy.com does not belong to the artist, and the person running it even states so on the front page. This doesn't make things more legal. (The artist's web site is luisroyo.com -- good luck in obtaining permission to redistribute or link to it)

The difference is, is that we are not distributing any copyrighted work ourselves. (Except for the thumbnail, which is really tiny and shouldn't be a problem.) However, we (Gentoo) should consider whether or not the above solution is acceptable. Probably Gentoo has a policy about these kind of situations. Anyone?

I propoose this bug be closed for the following reasons: * The theme itself hasn't been updated in years * The ebuild is not compliant with the latest EAPIs * It won't work with the upcoming GNOME3 * executioner92.free.fr doesn't appear to exist anymore * No one seems to care
