Description ifreecarve 2007-07-09 14:53:42 UTC
just upgraded thunderbird (ebuild info below). in previous versions of thunderbird, i had a saved search that included the criteria "label - isn't - none". in the new version, labels have apparently been converted to tags. so, when selecting the saved search folder,

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open an old version of thunderbird (1.5 ?)
2. create a saved search on some folder with the criteria "label - isn't - none"
3. close thunderbird and open a new version (2.0.0.4, for example)
4. select a mail folder
5. select the saved search folder
6. repeat until the software segfaults (should not be more than 2 or 3 times)

Actual Results:
i didn't feel like downgrading and upgrading thunderbird whilst writing this bug report, so here is the output from my machine for steps 4-6:

$ thunderbird
No running windows found
/usr/libexec/mozilla-launcher: line 119: 25454 Segmentation fault      $(type -P aoss) "$mozbin" "$@"
thunderbird-bin exited with non-zero status (139)

Expected Results:
no crash. the solution here is easy to fix -- i'll need to change the properties of my saved search and remove the settings that no longer work. but the software shouldn't crash based on my old settings!

Sorry, this is a wrong place to complain about this; you'll need to ask upstream to fix issues with old profiles on upgrade.
