after install >qt-4.2.x there is no icon for gnome, in fact, there are some icons for assistant, designer and linguist, but they are ico format for windows. the images can be used as application icon is under this directory: qt-x11-opensource-src-4.3.0/tools/assistant/images/assistant.png qt-x11-opensource-src-4.3.0/tools/assistant/images/designer.png qt-x11-opensource-src-4.3.0/tools/assistant/images/linguist.png hope it will be fixed, I only use gnome for desktop. Reproducible: Always
sorry for the title, I report this bug, because the qt did not install any icon, neither ico nor png. But qt should install pngs as icons
do you have a patch for the ebuild that I can see?
Created attachment 126841 [details, diff] patch for qt-4.3.0-r2.ebuild as i said, the bug title was wrong, because the ebuild didn't install any ico file, nor png files as icons. the patch is simple, here you are. ;-)
*** Bug 188302 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
The patch don't install missing icons in toolbar of assistant and designer. Steve Yin, can you add theses icons in your patch ?
It isn't a bug. I noticed whilst doing an emerge -av qt that it was going to build with -png and -tiff flags. Rebuilt qt with USE="png tiff" and the icons came back. I'd like it if somebody could confirm that this works then possible the ebuild could be patched?
Fixed with bug 241208
