PIDA imports the gconf module. As it cannot find this w/o gnome-python being installed, it fails. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install pida w/o gnome-python 2. Start pida Actual Results: Pida fails: necoro@Devoty ~ % pida The pida package could not be found. Exiting. (this is fatal) Expected Results: Pida starting up.
bug 184040 has an ebuild with the correct deps.
Thanks guys, added gnome-python dep even if you don't have USE='gnome' I left a bug report mentioning this upstream, along with the gvim, bicyclerepairman and gnome-python-extras which are missing from their docs also. https://bugs.launchpad.net/pida/+bug/124991
