Description Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-07-08 11:48:25 UTC
Niklas would like to join us to work on PHP, media-gfx and desktop areas, assuming he will be accepted by teams. I will be mentoring him. Niklas is from Turku, Finland so our Finnish Conspiracy is growing. He is known as Jarda on Freenode. We've gone thru ebuild-quiz so far, and I'm quite pleased with his answers.

Other areas of intrests would be Java and AMD64.

Haven't seen him on our IRC channel and we require contributing via our overlays before joining Java (unless you already are a developer and can prove that you know our eclasses/tools well enough) so no project lead approval from Java at least.

Same for PHP. As I'll be away for a bit, let him talk to Jakub about it. dev-lang/php is not in need of any help, PECL/PEAR packages (especially the latter) could use some, and new packages are always welcome if he wants to add them.
Best regards, CHTEKK.

we don't take new devs who haven't worked our AT program.

What is the status here? If you have written new ebuilds etc that you want to see in the tree we can just see under which herd they fall. If you have no experience in ebuild writing, this bug should not have been opened in the first place :)

Ok so basically so far you have written only php ebuilds?

I am taking this as an ok for the new packages until proven otherwise. Any way send the ebuild quiz to recruiters@gentoo.org when you get it approved by drac and we will work from there.

I've looked the ebuild quiz, and gave okay to send it to recruiters@g.o today,
you should have received mail from Niklas.

As phreak doesn't seem able to take this and Calchan is in LWE I will be your recruiter. Ping me on IRC or send me mail to schedule a review session. Be sure to have read http://devmanual.gentoo.org before the review session.
