Description Ralph De Witt 2003-03-29 17:32:20 UTC
Gnomemeeting version 0.9.6 has a bug in it that prevents it working with kernel module PWC 8.10 which I need to make my Logitech 4000pro work. I am informed from the gnomemeeting list that bug exists and that a work around has be placed in gnomemeeting cvs. Also the PWC developer has been informed so that he can modifiy PWC. I would like to see Gentoo move to patch the current version of Gnomemeeting or switch to Gnomemeeting CVS.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

1.Start Gnomemeeting
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Error message comes up that the kernel driver does not support the color palette.

Expected Results:
Should have started the web cam.

i've backported the alleged pwc workaround from gnomemeeting cvs and is now in gnomemeeting-0.96.1-r1

i'm not sure whether it works or not though. can you please test this?

I tested the new Gnomemeeting-0.96.1-r1 with the backported fix for the PWC 8.10 kernel module and this works for me with Gentoo-Sources-2.4.20-r2 and the PWC 8.10 kernel module added along with the PWCX 8.2 decompression module. and a logitech Quickcam 4000 Pro. Thanks for your quick response to this bug.
