After a successful emerge of the ~amd64 app-admin/lsat application, version 0.9.6, executing with no args works normally, but when provided '-m gentoo' it returns 'segmentation fault'. Don't know if this is a gentoo-specific or upstream problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. echo app-admin/lsat ~amd64 >> /etc/package.keywords 2. emerge lsat 3. lsat *** works normally *** 4. lsat -m gentoo *** segmentation fault *** Actual Results: segmentation fault Expected Results: Should have ran through its loaded modules and output text file last.out containing potential security-related problems Portage 2.1.2.9 (default-linux/amd64/2007.0, gcc-4.1.2, glibc-2.5-r3, 2.6.20-gen too-r8 x86_64) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.20-gentoo-r8 x86_64 Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz Gentoo Base System release 1.12.9 Timestamp of tree: Fri, 06 Jul 2007 16:50:01 +0000 ccache version 2.4 [enabled] dev-java/java-config: 1.3.7, 2.0.33-r1 dev-lang/python: 2.4.4-r4 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r5 dev-util/ccache: 2.4-r7 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.61 sys-devel/automake: 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2, 1.10 sys-devel/binutils: 2.17 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.16 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.23b virtual/os-headers: 2.6.17-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=nocona -pipe" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/share/X11/xkb" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/env.d /etc/env.d/java/ /etc/gconf /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/terminfo /etc/texmf/web2c" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=nocona -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="ccache distlocks metadata-transfer parallel-fetch sandbox sfperms stri ct userfetch userpriv usersandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://ftp.tu-clausthal.de/pub/linux/gentoo/ ftp://sunsite.inform atik.rwth-aachen.de/pub/Linux/gentoo ftp://linux.rz.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/gentoo-mi rror/ ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo http://mirrors.sec.informatik .tu-darmstadt.de/gentoo/ ftp://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo / ftp://mirror.iawnet.sandia.gov/pub/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.belnet.be/mirror/rsync.ge ntoo.org/gentoo/" LINGUAS="en" MAKEOPTS="-j3" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude=/di stfiles --exclude=/local --exclude=/packages --filter=H_**/files/digest-*" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X a52 aac acl alsa amd64 bash-completion bitmap-fonts cddb cli cracklib cry pt cscope cups directfb doc dri dvd fbcon flac fortran gdbm gpg gpm gtk hardened iconv isdnlog java jpeg kerberos ldap libg++ midi mmap mmx mudflap ncurses nls nptl nptlonly nsplugin ogg opengl openmp pam pcre perl png pppd python readline reflection sdl session spl sse sse2 ssl tcl tcpd theora threads tiff truetype tr uetype-fonts type1-fonts unicode v4l vcd vorbis xorg xv zlib" ALSA_CARDS="ali545 1 als4000 atiixp atiixp-modem bt87x ca0106 cmipci emu10k1x ens1370 ens1371 es193 8 es1968 fm801 hda-intel intel8x0 intel8x0m maestro3 trident usb-audio via82xx v ia82xx-modem ymfpci" ALSA_PCM_PLUGINS="adpcm alaw asym copy dmix dshare dsnoop e mpty extplug file hooks iec958 ioplug ladspa lfloat linear meter mulaw multi nul l plug rate route share shm softvol" ELIBC="glibc" INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse joystick" KERNEL="linux" LCD_DEVICES="bayrad cfontz cfontz633 glk hd44780 lb216 lcdm001 mtxorb ncurses text" LINGUAS="en" USERLAND="GNU" VIDEO_CARDS="fglrx rad eon" Unset: CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, PORTA GE_COMPRESS, PORTAGE_COMPRESS_FLAGS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY
Please, attach a backtrace. http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml
Created attachment 124161 [details] Backtrace from lsat -m gentoo lsat backtrace - let me know if I am missing something; never made one before. Did this: CFLAGS="-gddb" FEATURES="nostrip" emerge lsat then ran the gdb with bt, and bt full.
lsat version bump committed with patch to fix segfault.
