Jason replied to my mail, asking that he'd be kept a dev. He's currently out of the country. I'll paste the full mail once I got my mail client back.
Hey cool, he can do the breaks for me :-)
Dear Christian, I'm away, and I'm not. The short story is I'm in a foreign country a lot longer than I expected. I talked with my wife, and I'd like to stay a developer. What do I need to do? Regards, Jason Shoemaker AKA kutsuya
Well that's great, you can rejoin once/if you are available. Until then, 3 years of inactivity is really way too much.
I spoke with kutsuya on IRC today. Recent events (marriage, child) restricted his activity but he feels he can become active again and will be able to contribute on a regular basis. Kutsuya said he will work with gnustep and smalltalk and he understands that continued inactivity will result in retirement. He is having password troubles and was advised to consult with infra to have his password reset.
Jason had three CVS commits over last three years, the last one being 4 months ago after two years of break. He undergone two retirement inquiries already. He didn't touch bugzilla since 2005. His roll-call entry still lists him only as a Python developer but Tiziano Muller (dev-zero), our current Gentoo/Python lead, says that Jason left that subproject ages ago. If Jason wishes to keep contributing to Gentoo, he can still do so via Gentoo Bugzilla. For now, his level of contributions over past years just isn't sufficient for him to be a Gentoo developer. Jason, if you wish to be reinstated as an active Gentoo developer, please reopen this bug after your level of activity increases. For now we have no other choice but to retire you. Infra, please start retiring Jason.
Infrastructure side of retirement has been processed. Sorry for the delay.
