Description Derek Belrose 2003-03-29 01:17:32 UTC
I'm trying to setup an openldap daemon for authentication and when placing
/etc/openldap/schema/nis.schema in slapd.conf I get the following error:

* Starting ldap-server...
/etc/openldap/schema/nis.schema: line 193: AttributeType not found: "manager"
                                                   [ !! ]

I'm following the whitepaper for openldap from
http://www.metaconsultancy.com/whitepapers/ldap.htm and it mentions to include it.

Anyone else experience this error?

Nevermind, I figured it out.

The whitepaper was missing a schema that had to be included. I apologize for this erroneous report.

You also have to include the cosine.schema, when using nis :)
Comment 3 Derek Belrose 2003-03-29 01:35:40 UTC
That's exactly what I did :)

Comment 5 Derek Belrose 2003-03-29 06:46:38 UTC
I don't have the option to close this, possible Nick, who this is assigned to, has to do it now.

I can't close it :(

Long-overdue closing of this bug. Marking as "invalid" since, amazingly
enough, we didn't botch it up this time!
